1.1 The Feeding the Community, One Quote at a Time Contest (the “Contest”) is sponsored by BrokerLink’s Sault-Ste-Marie office, located at 219 Great Northern Rd, Sault Ste. Marie, ON P6B 4Z2
1.2 Entrants must call to get a new personal or business quote and will then earn a chance to win one of five $100 grocery gift cards. $10 will be donated to St. Vincent Place Sault Ste. Marie for every quote received!
1.2 The Contest starts on June 1, 2026 at 12:01 a.m. EST (the “Start Date”) and ends on July 31, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. EST (the “Close Date”). The period in which the Contest is open is referred to as the “Contest Period”.
2.1 The Contest is open to residents of Sault Ste. Marie and its surrounding area served by the branch, who call to get a new personal or business quote ("Eligible Participants"). The employees, agents and representatives of the Sponsor, its subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, suppliers of goods, prizes and services related to the Contest, any other persons directly related to the holding of this Contest, as well as their immediate family (father, mother, brothers, sisters, children), their legal or common-law spouse and any individuals with whom these employees, representatives and agents reside are not eligible to participate in the Contest.
2.2 Individuals who do not meet the obligations in the above paragraph will not qualify as Eligible Participants.
3.1 For entry into the Contest, an Eligible Participant must call for a new personal automobile, property, or business quote during the Contest Period, excluding endorsements and renewals. Each new personal or business insurance policy quote will earn one (1) draw ballot into the Contest (“Entrants”). Each submission will be verified by the Sponsor, who will bear responsibility for tracking the Entrant’s quote and entering the ballot into the Contest.
3.2 The Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, damaged, illegible, stolen, misdirected, misidentified, postage due or incomplete entries, for any problems or technical or mechanical malfunction of any telephone systems, computer on-line systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any entry to be received by the Close Date on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, or inaccurate entry information, whether caused by equipment, programming used in this Contest, human processing or otherwise, or any combination thereof. All contest entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be returned.
4.1 Within ten (10) days of the contest close date, five (5) Entrants will be selected in a random draw from among all eligible entries received for the Contest. Each random draw will be held at the Sponsor’s office. In order to be declared a winner, the selected Entrant must meet all of the criteria described under “WINNER NOTIFICATION” and his/her entry must be verified by the Sponsor. The Sponsor reserves the right to require proof of age, jurisdiction of residence, and proof of broker license prior to awarding any prize.
4.2 A total of five (5) prizes will be available in the form of $100 grocery gift cards, with an approximate value of $100 each, for an aggregate total approximate value of $500, and each $100 prize will be awarded to the Entrants whose entries were selected in a random draw from among all Entrants.
4.3 The prizes will be presented to the winners by a BrokerLink representative from the Sault Ste-Marie office. The Prizes are non-transferable and non-assignable. Each prize must be accepted as awarded. No substitution of prizes is permitted except by the Sponsor. The odds of winning are dependent upon the number of eligible entries received.
Selected Entrants will be contacted by the Sponsor through in-person, e-mail, telephone or mail within ten (10) business days of the draw. A selected Entrant will then have ten (10) days to respond to the Sponsor and correctly answer a time-limited, skill-testing question, and sign and complete a release form (“Release Form”) to be declared a winner. If a selected Entrant fails to:
respond within the allotted time;
correctly answer the time-limited, skill-testing question; or
complete and sign the Release Form accurately and return it to the return address indicated on the form within fifteen (15) days from the date of receipt; a new Entrant will be drawn until a winner is declared for each Prize.
7.1 The Sponsor encourages all Entrants to disclose any potential or actual conflict of interest.
7.2 The Sponsor is not responsible for any associated costs incurred by the selected Entrants with claiming any prize.
7.3 Entries that are in any way tampered with, forged, mutilated, incomplete, illegible, photocopied or mechanically reproduced, or submitted by or through fraudulent means, may be disqualified, in the sole discretion of the Sponsor. This includes any entry that does not comply with these Official Rules in any respect.
7.4 Decisions of the Sponsor are final on all matters of fact, interpretation, eligibility, procedure and fulfillment in respect to this Contest. The Sponsor reserves the right at any time to withdraw this Contest or to modify, amend, change, or supplement these Official Rules, in their sole discretion, subject to applicable law.
7.5 In the event that the Sponsor cannot award the prizes as described herein, the Sponsor will replace the prizes with prizes of a similar nature and of equal or higher value, or at their sole discretion, the value of the prizes in cash.
7.6 By participating in this Contest, each selected Entrant consents to the use by the Sponsor and its Agents of his/her name, brokerage and city for any lawful purpose, without further permission or compensation, except where prohibited by law. The Sponsor reserves the right, in its discretion, to suspend or cancel this Contest at any time if a computer virus, bug, tampering, unauthorized intervention, or other technical problem of any sort corrupts the administration, security, or proper play of this Contest. The Sponsor also reserves the right to disqualify, in its sole discretion, any person tampering with the entry process, the operation of the contest website, or who is otherwise in violation of these Official Rules. Any attempt to undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws. Should such an attempt be made, the Sponsor reserves the right to prosecute violators to the fullest extent allowable by law.
7.9 By participating in this Contest, each Entrant agrees to release and hold each of the Sponsor and its Agents, and legal advisors, harmless from any and all losses, damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind in connection with this Contest or resulting from acceptance, possession, or use of any prize, including without limitation, personal injury, death, and property damage, and claims based on publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy.
7.10 Except where prohibited or restricted by law, Entrants agree that (1) any and all disputes, claims or causes of action arising out of or connected with the Contest or any prizes awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by arbitration or alternate dispute resolution, as selected by the Sponsor, to take place in Toronto, Ontario; (2) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out of pocket costs incurred in participation but in no event legal fees and expenses; and (3) under no circumstances will an Entrant be entitled to obtain awards for and hereby waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental, indirect and consequential damages and any other damages (other than for direct damages limited to actual out-of-pocket reasonable costs), and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased.
