Save on your insurance premium with a soft credit check!

We’re always looking for ways to help you save on your insurance premium and are pleased to share that you may be eligible for a potential discount upon renewal of your policy when you consent to a soft credit check.

Don’t worry – this is a soft hit and won’t affect your credit score in any way.

FAQs

Why does BrokerLink want to check my credit score?

Your credit score is one of many factors used to assess risk and establish the most suitable insurance offer for your needs, according to your financial stability. Without this information, we may not be able to offer you the best premium. BrokerLink does not have access to your credit report, nor does this verification affect your credit score. As long as you are a BrokerLink customer, this information will be updated periodically and used to determine your potential savings.

Your consent response will be provided to your insurance company who will facilitate the credit check. If you are eligible for a discount, it will be applied to your policy upon your next renewal. At no point does BrokerLink have access to your detailed credit information or credit result.

Can this work against me if I have poor credit?

No. There is no penalty for having a poor credit score. Your premium will not be increased or surcharged as a result.

What type of discount can I expect to see on my insurance?

There are too many variables to offer an accurate prediction. The potential discount is offered on a sliding scale based on your credit score and the coverage you carry on your policy. This is not determined by BrokerLink and we do not have access to the detailed discount information.

Are all types of insurance policies able to receive a discount?

No. Credit consent is governed provincially, and eligible risks vary by region.

Is my information secure?

Yes. As part of our Privacy Promise to you, we only collect the information we need. And we always do so with your safety and security in mind.

When will the potential discounts come into effect?

Your consent will be applied to your policy upon your next (upcoming) renewal.

Can I withdraw my credit consent?

Yes. If at any time you change your mind, you can contact us to withdraw your consent.
