Congratulations to our Thunder Bay pirates who had a great time team building throughout September, while also supporting the Dew Drop Inn Centre. Yar Matey! Members of the Thunder Bay branch recently spiced things up by making September pirate month at their location.
Participants were split into four different pirate teams. Each team selected their own team and ship names, as well as individual pirate names for each member. Throughout September, the “pirates” enjoyed fun team building activities such as scavenger hunts, pirate-themed games, and community activities such as volunteering and collecting donations for the local soup kitchen, The Dew Drop Inn.
“This idea came about five years ago when I discovered September 19 is International Talk Like a Pirate Day,” said Lori Lee, Personal Insurance Manager. “Over the years, September pirate month has expanded to include great team building activities that also benefit the community.”
Among all four pirate teams, “The Wenches of the Caribbean” collected the highest amount of non-perishable food items for the Dew Drop Inn Centre, as well as over $1,000 in cash donations.
“The Black Bling” took first prize as the top pirate team this year, garnering the highest total points from the team building activities. Below are the members of the “Black Bling”, along with their pirate names:
