Joe D’Annunzio - President
Joe D’Annunzio became BrokerLink’s President in January 2018. He has over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, holding numerous positions in Canada and the United States. His most recent role was Senior Vice President, Specialty Solutions and Surety of Intact Insurance. In this position, he led a new national department focused on growing its commercial lines specialty solutions business. His prior positions include Regional Vice President of the Mississauga (Ontario) region, Regional Vice President of Ottawa and the Northern Ontario region, Regional Vice President of the Durham (Ontario) region, and Vice President of Ontario Novex personal lines. Joe also has 10 years of industry experience in the United States where he ran a brokerage and was a Regional Manager for a major United States insurer. As President of BrokerLink, Joe is responsible for accelerating the company’s organic growth capability and growing the business across Canada.
Paul Meyer - Head of Acquisitions
Paul Meyer joined BrokerLink as the Head of Ontario in 2010 after more than 19 years of managing regional profit centres for Intact Insurance. Previously he was Regional Vice President for the Toronto region of Intact Insurance. Paul is accountable for the prospecting, negotiation and successful integration of brokerage acquisitions. Paul holds a BA in Economics from the University of Western Ontario.
John Baizana - Head of Ontario
John Baizana joined BrokerLink in 2013 after more than 22 years of managing and owning his own insurance brokerage. John is a former President of the Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario (RIBO) and a past recipient of the Insurance Broker of the Year Award from the Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario (IBAO). Most recently, John held the position of Regional Branch Manager for the Ottawa region of BrokerLink. John is accountable for the growth and profitability of BrokerLink’s personal and commercial insurance portfolio for Ontario. John holds a Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) designation.
Lindsay Loughridge – Head of Alberta
Lindsay Loughridge joined BrokerLink in 2017. Previously, she held various positions at Intact Insurance. In 2016, she transitioned to Intact Financial Corporation where she worked as a Director of Corporate Affairs. In this role, Lindsay provided oversight of the annual strategic plan and supported the office of the CEO. She has extensive experience in distribution, underwriting, management, and client service. In addition to her knowledge of the insurance industry, Lindsay has been recognized for her leadership skills. In 2013, she received the Emerging Leader Award from the Chartered Insurance Professional Society. She also holds a Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional designation and Canadian Risk Management designation. As the Head of Alberta, Lindsay is responsible for the continued growth of province’s commercial and personal insurance lines of business.
Liz Cosgrove - Head of Atlantic
Liz Cosgrove joined BrokerLink in 2014 as part of the acquisition of Macdonald Chisholm Trask Insurance (MCT). Liz is responsible for the growth and profitability of 20 offices across Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Newfoundland. She brings over 40 years of insurance industry knowledge to the leadership team at BrokerLink. After over a decade with the Insurance Bureau of Canada, Liz remains active in liaising with government and industry associations to better educate consumers about insurance. Liz holds a Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) certification.
Valerie da Silva - Head of Human Resources
Valerie da Silva joined BrokerLink in 2007 and guides all human resources (HR) functions including employee engagement, talent acquisition, compensation, payroll, benefits, talent management, organizational design and HR systems. Prior to BrokerLink, she had extensive HR experience within the financial and professional services sectors. Valerie earned a B. Comm from the University of Ottawa and holds a CHRL professional designation.
Dave Ewanchyna - Head of Marketing and Communications
Dave Ewanchyna joined BrokerLink in 2009 and guides all marketing, advertising, and communications activity. He has more than 22 years of experience in insurance and telecommunications. Dave earned a BA and MBA from the University of Calgary.
Cathy Wilson - Head of Finance
Cathy Wilson joined BrokerLink in 2012 and is accountable for all areas of finance. Prior to BrokerLink, Cathy was with Intact Financial Corporation where she held a number of finance positions over the past eight years, most recently as a Director in the Broker Financial Solutions group. She is a Chartered Accountant and Certified Public Accountant (Illinois). Cathy earned a BA from the University of Winnipeg.
Cynthia Baxter - Head of Technology & Operational Support
Cynthia Baxter joined BrokerLink in 2012. She leads BrokerLink’s technology and operational support teams. BrokerLink’s Professional Development and Quality Assurance team, Centralized Processing team, Work Force Management and Business Analysts, Project Management and Technology and System Support teams work together to plan, procure, train, implement and support new solutions, existing systems and transactional processing. Prior to joining BrokerLink, Cynthia held various management positions at Intact Financial Corporation, including Director, Application Development and Director, Information Technology, in the Strategic Planning and Enterprise Architecture department. Cynthia holds a BA from the University of Western Ontario.
