I plan to put my motorcycle in storage over the winter season and don’t need year round insurance if I’m not riding it.

FALSE

Even if you plan to store your motorcycle over the winter, you should still have year-round coverage in the event you experience damage, theft or vandalism in the off season. If saving money is your motivation, cancelling insurance will not reduce your costs. Premiums for seasonal vehicles are adjusted for use, meaning you pay based on when you use it and the coverage is year-round. Don’t forget having any insurance help you build a history with the insurance carrier. By showing you’ve had continuous coverage over periods of time, you may qualify to receive better rates.
